Seven-time champion Federer will grace the courts with an opening match against Alexandr Dolgopolov. He leads the Ukrainian 3-0 in their head-to-head and is yet to drop a set against him. Federer currently has a 88% winning record at Wimbledon, winning 84 out of his 95 matches played.

“The idea is to be mentally fresh still and eager to play, hopefully when the second week rolls around,” Federer said about his Wimbledon plans.
“I’ve done that without making any compromises about the grass-court season.
“Originally I was going to take seven weeks off and then play the clay, but I decided to take 10 weeks off.
“I never had any regrets. When I take a decision I move on with it. I got an incredible amount of practice on grass. Now Wimbledon is coming around you want to feel your best and play your best.”

Grigor Dimitrov is on course for a last 16 clash with Federer. The Bulgarian will open up against Diego Schwartzman and could face John Isner later in the week. Isner could be a stern test for Dimitrov due to his speedy serve, but has never reached the fourth round at the grass-court major. Isner will start against qualifier Taylor Fritz.
