TENNIS Internazionali BNL d’Italia – An interview with Serena Williams.
Q: There are 8 American players in the main draw, a new generations of younger player is coming through, why did you think has taken a little bit of time for this to happen?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I don’t know but I think is great, it’s a good time. I am nearing the end of my career, who knows, and people getting inspired by different americans maybe they start to play now so I think they have to grow up have to become a little older before they can get on the tour.
Q: Do you have much contact with some of the younger players?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I love seeing other Americans around, I think people from the each country always have a sort of connection to their particular country. So, it’s always all the Americans always say….I like these little group.

SERENA WILLIAMS: I take a day at the time, we’ll see as the weeks goes on I have the rest of the day off. I hit some balls a little bit today and let’s see later tonight how I feel.
Q: In Madrid the pain was too much or was just a concerned that you need a full repercussion?
SERENA WILLIAMS: I don’t do anything out of percussion anymore, you live once and anything can happen tomorrow. I physically couldn’t play, a lot of pain and was unable to continue. When I am playing I want to give hundred percent, I want to go out there and give the fans everything they deserved. And there I was even come closer to be able to be there.

SERENA WILLIAMS: It’s funny, I love coming here and play on the clay, the challenge of having to be more consistent and having much better and it’s a big challenge for me and I really enjoy look to do it often.

SERENA WILLIAMS: Rome shopping is always very fun, I always try to do it on Monday which is today. Venus is a much bigger shopper than me. I am a window shopper.
