Q. It was a very tight match. What do you think was the difference in the end?
EKATERINA MAKAROVA: Well, yeah, it was really a good match, a good fight. I want to say that maybe she was just a little bit lucky because I missed so many lines, it was just a little bit.
Maybe with my concentration also, like two last days I played two matches pretty late, so maybe this one also was saying a little bit maybe my concentration wasn’t that good. I just missed yet more important moments just a little bit so many times.
But I’m still happy. It was a great fight. I think everyone loved it out there.
Q. Is it frustrating to play against a player like her who has an answer to every shot you throw at her?
EKATERINA MAKAROVA: Well, she’s like this, so I was expecting this. We played just at the Wimbledon. So I was ready that it would be long points, long rallies, and long match, because she’s making every ball back.
I was trying to be more aggressive. Maybe I missed more because I was sometimes too aggressive, not a little bit patient, so…
