The curtain has been pulled on the final grand slam of the year with Angelique Kerber and Stan Wawrinka clinching their maiden titles. The US Open has been a tournament to remember for many players that some will never forget.
1) Gael Monfils playing in the rain
As the majority of people in Flushing Meadows ran for shelter as the rain poured down in New York, Gael Monfils took the wet conditions in his stride. Instead of keeping dry, the entertaining Frenchman and his team proceeded ahead with their training session. It was certainly an interesting way for Monfils to celebrate his 30th birthday.

Monfils wasn’t just training in the rain. He also participated in what appeared to be a game of Bocce, an Italian version of bowls.
