US player Brandon Nakashima ha become the seventh player to qualify for the Intesa San Paolo Next Gen ATP Finals to be held from 9 to 13 November at the Allianz Cloud in Milan.

Nakashima will make his first appearance at the Next Gen Finals in Milan. He joins his fellow countrimen Sebastian Korda and Jenson Brooksby.

In February 2020 Nakashima received a wildcard into the Delray Beach Open, where he reached the quarter finals in his first main draw event. In the Californian tournament he beat Jiri Vesely and Cameron Norrie before losing to Yoshihito Nishioka.

Later in the year at the 2020 US Open Nakashima beat Paolo Lorenzi before losing to eventual finalist Alexander Zverev in his Grand Slam debut.

The former world junior number 3 reached back-to-back ATP Tour Finals finishing runner-to Cameron Norrie in Los Cabos and to John Isner Atlanta as a 19-year-old player. He became the youngest American player to advance to multiple finals since Andy Roddick went 5-2 in finals as a teenager in 2001-2002.

Nakashima rose from world number 170 in the ATP Ranking to a career-best of number 70 this week. As a qualifier at the 2021 European Open in Antwerp, he reached the quarter finals before losing to Diego Schwartzman. Thanks to the result achieved in Antwerp Nakashima broke the top 100 for the first time in his career.

Nakashima advanced to 2020 Delray Beach quarter final as a 18-year-old wild card in ATP Tour debut.

Nakashima graduated from High Bluff Academy in San Diego before enrolling at the University in Virginia in January 2019 at the age of 19.
