Former US Open champion Flavia Pennetta has ruled out a return to the court in the future.
“I don’t think at all that I will make the come-back. Fabio insists that I should return to the court, but he sometimes jokes. I have a four-month daughter. My life is perfect. I love tennis. This sport has always been my life for many years”, said Pennetta in an interview to the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Pennetta is spending her lockdown period in Arma di Taggia with her husband Fabio Fognini and their children Federico and Farah.
“I love staying with my family. The lockdown was not alway very easy with my children. Farah was born four months ago. Federico is a good child but he is very active. The first days at home were not very easy for Fabio. He is used to a totally different rhythm, but he has now used to home life day after day. I am lucky because he is a good father. When everyone sleeps, it is the perfect moment when I can cook and iron. Federico loves tennis. We invent every day something to do. We draw and cook desserts”.
