Konta’s swipe
Johanna Konta’s struggles at Roland Garros continued this year with another first round loss. This time it was at the hands of Yulia Putintseva. The British No.1, who is currently ranked 22nd in the world, is yet to win a main draw match at the Paris major.
Following her match, a disappointed Konta hit out at British media for how they covered her performance at the tournament. Catching many off guard as she compared the reporters to ‘bastards.’ Speaking about the coverage, she accused them of ‘not making it easy’ for her.
