Carreno Busta had to save a break point at 2-3. Medvedev converted his third break point in the eighth game game and served out on his first match point in the next game. Medvedev will face Bosnia’s Mirza Basic in the quarter final, who breezed aside Laslo Djere 6-1 6-1.
“I am very happy to have beaten Pablo, who is attempting to qualify for the ATP Finals. I am happy with the way I am feeling on the court. I was serving well and I was only disappointed that I could not hold the first break in the second set”, said Medvedev.
