They secured the year-end world No.1 team last night, when they beat the Bryan brothers in straight sets advancing to their maiden final at the O2 Arena, becoming the first team other than the two American twins to secure the team leadership since Nestor/Zimonjic in 2008. Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau have gone all the way, winning the title after beating in the final Bopanna/Mergea in straight sets by 6-4 6-3 in exactly 1 hour.
After winning the title at Wimbledon, Rojer/Tecau have closed the 2015 undefeated in London with 11 wins and zero defeats. The two have dominated the rest of the competition at the O2 Arena, winning all matches in straight sets. It is the first time since 1986 that a team wins the title at the finals without dropping a single set.
Rojer/Tecau have defeated Bopanna/Mergea for thee 4th time in 2015, after winning in Rome, at the French Open and at Wimbledon.
