Monday features the completion of third round action in men’s singles, as well as all fourth round matches in women’s singles.
Two years ago in the second round of Roland Garros, Naomi Osaka was just one point away from upsetting Iga Swiatek, before Iga came back to win 7-5 in the third, and eventually claim her fourth RG title. On Monday, we get the clay court rematch between these two future Hall of Famers.
The schedule also includes the fourth round WTA singles matches of both Elena Rybakina and Coco Gauff. Plus, World No.1 Jannik Sinner plays his third round match.
Here’s a rundown of the most notable matches on Monday (in chronological order, all times local):
Coco Gauff (3) vs. Iva Jovic (16) – Not Before 12:30pm on Campo Centrale
Gauff came back from a set down in the last round against Solana Sierra. Coco has advanced to the semifinals or better at this event in both of the last two years. Jovic is an 18-year-old American who last season cut her ranking from No.191 to No.35, and recently reached a career-high of No.16. She advanced to the quarterfinals at this year’s Australian Open, and has not dropped a set through two rounds this past week. This will be their first career meeting.
Jannik Sinner (1) vs. Alexei Popyrin – Not Before 3:00pm on Campo Centrale

Sinner easily secured his opening match on Saturday, extending his current win streak to 24. Popyrin has already taken out two familiar names during this tournament: Matteo Berrettini and Jakub Mensik. These players have split two prior encounters, with Sinner prevailing in straights at last year’s US Open, and Popyrin prevailing in straights five years ago on the clay of Madrid.
Naomi Osaka (15) vs. Iga Swiatek (4) – Not Before 6:00pm on BNP Paribas Arena
Outside of the aforementioned Roland Garros contest, Swiatek and Osaka have played twice on hard courts, with each winning once. Iga is of course the more accomplished clay court performer, though it’s now been almost two years since she’s won a title on this surface. Naomi won a lower-level clay court event last year, and is now 4-1 on this surface during 2026. But to defeat Swiatek, Osaka will need to dictate play while also keeping her unforced error count low. Both women easily won their third round matches on Sunday, losing a total of only four games between them.
Karolina Pliskova vs. Elena Rybakina (2) – Not Before 8:30pm on Campo Centrale
This is a battle between two of the best WTA servers of all-time. Rybakina is playing for her 30th match win of the season, a day after ousting Alexandra Eala in straights. Pliskova has quickly rediscovered her form after missing over a year of action due to injury. She is 13-5 on the year overall, and now 9-2 on clay. Rybakina leads their head-to-head 4-0, with all four victories occurring in straight sets.
