Venus Williams will mark her US Open return with an opening round showdown against former semi-finalist Karolina Muchova.
The two-time champion is making her first appearance in New York after some positive performances in Washington and Cincinnati.
However, the 45 year-old will have an extremely tough opening round when she takes on former semi-finalist Karolina Muchova in the first round.
The winner of that match could go on to face Australian Open champion Madison Keys in the last 16 with the American facing Renata Zarazua in the first round.
Keys is involved in a loaded section of the draw which includes Petra Kvitova as a potential second round match with the Czech Republican playing the last tournament of her career.
Also in this section of the draw will see 27th seed Marta Kostyuk take on Katie Boulter in the opening round.
In the same quarter of the draw is former champion Coco Gauff who begins against Ajla Tomljanovic and could face Donna Vekic or Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the second round.
The fourth round could see Montreal finalist Naomi Osaka as her rival before a showdown with Keys.
This half of the draw also features Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek who will begin against Emiliana Arango before potentially facing Anna Kalinskaya in the third round.
A quarter-final match against Amanda Anisimova could be on the cards with the Wimbledon finalist beginning against Kimberly Birrell.
The likes of Sofia Kenin and Elina Svitolina could await Anisimova on her way to the last eight.
Top seed Aryna Sabalenka will start her title defence against Rebeka Masarova with a third round meeting against former finalist Leylah Fernandez likely.
In the quarter-finals, Sabalenka will face either Cincinnati finalist Jasmine Paolini or Elena Rybakina.
Sabalenka lost to Rybakina in Cincinnati and would want her revenge if the pair was to meet in the last eight.
A rematch of last year’s final could happen in the semi-finals as Jessica Pegula could await in the last four.
The American will need to pick up her form quickly though and begins against Mayar Sherif and could face Dayana Yastremska in the third round.
In the quarter-finals, Pegula could face Mirra Andreeva who will begin her campaign against Alycia Parks.
However, Toronto champion Victoria Mboko is in Andreeva’s section and the 18 year-old will begin her campaign against former Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova in the first round.
In the third round, Mboko is projected to face last year’s semi-finalist Emma Navarro who will being against Yafan Wang.
The US Open starts on Sunday.
