Petra Kvitova has announced that she will be retiring from tennis at the US Open later this year.
It was in February when Kvitova announced that she would be returning from tennis after becoming a mother.
However, results haven’t been as successful as the former Wimbledon champion would have liked having only won one match since her return.
Now Kvitova has announced that she will be retiring from the sport at this year’s US Open having had a successful career which has included Grand Slam titles and WTA 1000 titles.
The Czech Republican has endured the ups and the lows which have included recovering from being attacked in her own home.
An inspiration to many, Kvitova will be hoping for a fairytale ending to her career as she aims to end on a high.
