World number one Novak Djokovic will face Lorenzo Musetti in his opening match of 2022 in Dubai.
After making the headlines off the court over vaccination rules and his stance of the matter, Novak Djokovic will finally get to make headlines on the court in Dubai.
The world number one returns to action for the first time since the Davis Cup Finals as Djokovic plays in the ATP 500 event in Dubai this week.
Djokovic will look to win his sixth Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship this week and will begin his campaign against rising Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
The Italian was two sets to love up on Djokovic at Roland Garros last year and will pose some threat to the Serb.
Should Djokovic win that clash he will face Karen Khachanov or Alex De Minaur in round two before potentially facing 8th seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the last eight.
In his half of the draw there will be Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov who are set for a quarter-final showdown.
Auger-Aliassime, who won his first ATP title in Rotterdam, will face Nikoloz Basilashvili first while Denis Shapovalov takes on Marton Fucsovics.
In the other half of the draw, Hubert Hurkacz will take on Alexander Bublik while Jannik Sinner takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
In the same quarter Andy Murray has taken a wildcard and will face a qualifier in round one before a potential second round match with Sinner.
Defending champion Aslan Karatsev takes on Mackenzie McDonald in his opening round with Andrey Rublev awaiting as a potential quarter-final.
Rublev will start against the tricky Dan Evans in his first match with the Russian competing in Marseille this week.
