Sunday features the championship matches in both men’s singles and women’s doubles.

Having won Indian Wells two weeks ago, Jannik Sinner is just one match away from becoming the first man to complete the “Sunshine Double” since Roger Federer in 2017.  But in Sunday’s championship match, he must overcome Masters 1000 final debutante Jiri Lehecka, who is yet to lose his serve this fortnight.

Sunday also hosts the championship match in women’s doubles, which sees Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini (1) vs. Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend (2) at 12:30pm local time.  This is a rematch from the Indian Wells semifinals just two weeks ago, when Siniakova and Townsend thumped Errani and Paolini 6-2, 6-2.  Siniakova and Townsend would go on to win the title, so they are also playing for the “Sunshine Double” on Sunday.  It would be their third WTA 1000 title overall, while it would be a fifth for the team of Errani and Paolini.

Sinner is 18-2 on the year, and is currently on a 11-match winning streak.  He’s also now claimed 32 consecutive sets at Masters 1000 level.  Across the last three years on hard courts, Jannik has gone 137-12, which is equal to a 92% winning percentage.  Those are numbers few players can achieve on a specific curious, and are akin to Rafael Nadal’s dominance on clay.  This is Sinner’s 11th Masters 1000 final, where he holds a record of 6-4.

Lehecka’s 2026 record stands at 11-5, and this is just his seventh ATP final, where he holds a record of 2-4.  His only two titles are at 250-level, and both came in Australian Open tune-up events.  Here in Miami, he’s dropped only one set, to sixth-seeded Taylor Fritz in the round of 16, and Jiri has saved all nine break points he has faced during this tournament.  However, as per Tennis Abstract, the Fritz victory was just his third win against a top 10 player within the last year, which comes with six losses.  And as imposing as Lehecka’s serve and forehand can be, their effectiveness will be minimized by Sinner’s suffocating level of hitting.

Between tour-level and Challenger-level events, Sinner is 4-0 against Lehecka, and has won all nine sets they’ve contested.  Their most recent encounter occurred last year at Roland Garros, where Jiri only managed to procure a total of three games across three sets.  Jannik also prevailed twice against him during 2024 on hard courts.  So of course, Sinner is a huge favorite to win his second title in Miami.  A victory would move him just about 1,000 points behind Carlos Alcaraz in the rankings, and the Spaniard has a lot more points to defend during the clay court season than the Italian.
