Amanda Anisimova has split with her coach after an underwhelming start to the season for the American.
Anisimova upon the return to the tour from her mental health break hired Hendrik Vleeshouwers to change her fortunes and to say it went well in 2025 would be an understatement.
A rise up the rankings inside the world’s top five which saw two Grand Slam finals at Wimbledon and the US Open as her meteoric rise took shape.
However, after a promising start things haven’t exactly gone to plan for Anisimova so far and now the American sees a need for a change.
In a statement on Instagram Anisimova thanked the Dutch coach for everything but saw the need for change at the moment, “It’s been quite the ride and journey together,” Anisimova started her statement on Instagram.
“Last year holds so many special moments and achievements together that I will never forget! We picked up some trophies and incredible milestones, but all the laughs and behind the scenes moments I’ll carry with me even more. Thank you Rick, thank you for everything you’ve done for me.
“For seeing and treating me as a human first, before an athlete. That meant the world to me, and made for a great partnership. Your dedication, loyalty, and passion is undeniable! I wish you nothing but happiness and success in whatever comes next for you in this chapter!”
Anisimova will now turn her attention to the clay court season in a bid to get her year back on track.
