Alex De Minaur is into the Rotterdam semi-finals after he overcame a tough test against Botic Van De Zandschulp.
The Australian was up against it for the majority of the match as the Dutchman dominated exchanges from the baseline at the times.
However, De Minaur found a way to win as he defeated Van De Zandschulp 3-6 7-6(4) 7-5 to silence the home crowd and reach the final four in Holland.
Now into his third consecutive semi-final appearance De Minaur is on the hunt for the title, “I’m happy I got through,” a relieved De Minaur told the ATP website.
“It wasn’t looking too good about three quarters of the way through the match, but I managed to find some of my better tennis today at the end of the second set. Another great mental effort.”
Now, awaiting De Minaur is Ugo Humbert after the Frenchman put on a dominant display to defeat Christopher O’Connell 6-4 6-1.
The Frenchman produced some big serving and overcame a tight first set in order to secure a big victory over O’Connell to continue his good form indoors.
Heading into the meeting, De Minaur leads the head-to-head 5-2 with the head-to-head tied at 1-1 on indoor hard courts.
The other two quarter-finals will see Tallon Griekspoor take on Felix Auger-Aliassime while Jaume Munar takes on Alexander Bublik.
