Stan Wawrinka Announces 2026 Retirement

Stan Wawrinka has announced that he will be retiring from tennis in 2026.

Stan Wawrinka has announced that he is retiring from tennis in 2026 after a sensational tennis career.

After a 23 year professional career, Wawrinka has decided to call quits on his sensational career which started in 2002.

The Swiss won a Davis Cup, Olympic Gold and three Grand Slam titles upsetting tennis’ elite for many years.

However, after falling outside the world’s top 150 Wawrinka has now decided that 2026 will be his final year on the tour.

Speaking on social media Wawrinka announced his decision and is optimistic of some more good moments in his career next year, “One last push,” Wawrinka was quoted by TNT Sports as saying on social media.

“Every book needs an ending. It’s time to write the final chapter of my career as a professional tennis player. 2026 will be my last year on tour. I still want to push my limits and finish this journey on the best note possible.

“I still have dreams in this sport. I’ve enjoyed every part of what tennis has given me, especially the emotions I feel playing in front of you. I’m looking forward to seeing you one more time, all around the world.”

Wawrinka has reached a career high ranking of three in the world in 2014 and has won 16 career titles.
