Aryna Sabalenka, Amanda Anisimova and Belinda Bencic have headlined this yea’s WTA awards winners.
Aryna Sabalenka has been voted as the player of the year having ended the year as world number one, reaching three Grand Slam finals and winning the US Open title.
It’s the second consecutive year that Sabalenka has won the award and is the third player in the last 15 years to win the award.
Meanwhile, Amanda Anisimova has won the most improved player of the year award after reaching two Grand Slam finals at Wimbledon and the US Open as well as rising inside the world’s top five in the world.
There were also two WTA 1000 titles for the talented American in Doha and Beijing as she rose to new heights this season.
As for the comeback of the year that could only go to one player as Belinda Bencic made her mark by rising inside the world’s top 50 with a title in Abu Dhabi as well as reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon.
It was an incredible season for Bencic who won two WTA 500 titles including a title in Tokyo to end the season.
Other awards went to Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova for winning doubles team of the year.
Meanwhile, Victoria Mboko claimed the newcomer of the year award after winning her maiden WTA 1000 title on home soil in Montreal.
