Mirra Andreeva extended her winning streak to eight matches with a 6-3 6-0 win over Clara Tauson at Indian Wells.
The 14th seed once again cruised past Clara Tauson to reach the fourth round at Indian Wells as Andreeva continued her winning streak.
It means Andreeva is on an active eight match winning streak and is the youngest player to win eight consecutive WTA 1000 events since the format was introduced in 2009.
Speaking after her latest win Andreeva spoke about how well she is playing and what the key to success is, “I have been playing good recently,” the 14th seed stated to the WTA website.
“It just feels that I know exactly what to do on the court. For example, I would say that before on some tournaments, it depends on the match, but now I just know that I go out there, doesn’t matter who I play, the ball is coming to me and I know what to do.
“I just feel like everything is clear in my head, and I know exactly what to do with the ball. It’s kind of a good feeling, I can say. I hope that I can maintain this for as long as I can.”
Next up for the in-form Andreeva is 2023 champion Elena Rybakina after the Kazakh defeated Katie Boulter in the second round.
The head-to-head is currently tied at 1-1 with Andreeva winning their last meeting in Dubai, which Andreeva went on to win the title.
