Stefanos Tsitsipas has said that his racket change has felt more comfortable as he is into the Dubai final.
The Greek is into his first final in 11 months after reaching the final in Dubai by claiming wins over Lorenzo Sonego, Karen Khachanov, Matteo Berrettini and Tallon Griekspoor.
Tsitsipas’ last final was in Barcelona last year but now has the opportunity to turn his recent poor form around by winning the Dubai title.
A reason behind Tsitsipas’ recent form is his change of racket and after his semi-final win Tsitsipas detailed why he made the change and what it brings to his game, “Comfort is one thing that it brings to my game, and that’s one thing I’ve been trying to add to my game, and I’ve been receiving some of that extra help,” Tsitsipas was quoted by tennis infinity as saying to Reem Abulleil.
“I’ve spoke about how balls and courts have changed in the last couple of years, and that’s just me trying to adapt to that. It was kind of a no-brainer, I feel like. Especially when you feel like how things respond. It’s foolish of me not to try and make the change because it’s too obvious that it doesn’t really benefit me or help me.
“These changes sometimes are necessary because you don’t want to be stuck in the same pattern over and over again.“
Tsitsipas will aim to win a 12th career title in the Dubai final when he takes on Felix Auger-Aliassime at 15:00 GMT.
