Taylor Fritz has targeted further improvement to his game after an outstanding 2024 season.
The American achieved an incredibly consistent season which included a first Grand Slam final at the US Open as well as reaching the final at the Nitto ATP Finals.
After USA lost in the Davis Cup quarter-finals to Australia, Fritz’s season has now concluded which has given him plenty of time to reflect.
Despite an outstanding season Fritz has admitted he would like to improve further with a Grand Slam title in his sights, “It just so happens that I’ve been improving a lot over the last couple years and I’m playing great tennis,” the American was quoted by tennis365 as saying.
“I’m excited about a lot of the things I think I can still improve on, that I’m working on. I feel like almost every part of my game has gotten better the last couple of years. Definitely feeling more confident with my forehand, my serve, my return. I’ve been moving better, playing better defense. I’ve been able to come to net and finish some points, which obviously still working on. There’s been a lot of things.
“A lot of days, a lot of matches, it’s going to happen. You play a couple games where the serve, you miss some close ones, maybe you make less first serves in a game. There’s games I just try to rely on my ability to play from the baseline, play good points to get me out of those games. In games where it doesn’t work, all I can really say is I needed to serve better because from the ground.
“I’m excited because I still think there’s a lot of room for me to improve.”
It wasn’t just in results that Fritz broke new ground as he earned over six million dollars in prize money this season.
As a result Fritz has also passed 20 million dollars as a career total and he now turns his attention to 2025 starting with the Australian Open which starts on the 12th of January.
