The world number 58 for the second consecutive time beat the Canadian on a grass court.
Alize Cornet for the second tournament in a row beat the world number seven Bianca Andreescu 6-2, 6-1 in one hour and 23 minutes hitting only 11 winners in the win while the Canadian hit 34 unforced errors in the loss.
A match that was scheduled to be played on Tuesday got delayed and eventually cancelled due to rain and for the first four games of the first set it stayed on serve.
At 2-2 it was the Nice, France native with the first two chances of the match to break and got the first break when the Toronto native served a double fault and she would consolidate the break for the 4-2 lead.
The very next game the 31 year old was hungry for more and managed to earn three more breakpoints to go up a double break as she would serve out the first set in 40 minutes.
Cornet carried the momentum into the second set and again earned three more breakpoints and broke to once again to take an early 1-0 lead but the Canadian fought back the very next game trying to get the break back but failed to do so as the world number consolidated the break.
At this point she was smelling blood and played a solid return game to earn another three breakpoints and broke again for a double break lead before the Canadian would finally hold a service game to make it 4-1.
The very next game Andreescu had three looks at a breakpoint but Cornet again hung in and saved all three and managed to to serve out the match winning match point with a crazy point ending in a lob winner that landed right on the line.
Cornet will now either face Greet Minnen or Alja Tomljanovic in the second round.
