Jennifer Brady and Michael Geserer will part ways despite having a successful player-coaching relationship.
The news came from Geserer’s Instagram account which announced the news that him and Brady had parted ways.
Having undergone a pre-season in Regensburg, Geserer helped Brady to an Australian Open final and last year the American won her first WTA title in Lexington.
In the statement Geserer said the following, “After 18 months of joint work, great experience and considerable success, Jennifer Brady has decided to part ways,” he said on Instagram.
“Huge respect for her strong commitment during our highly professional relationship, her positive way of thinking, and, not least, for the decision she has been taking. I do wish you all the very best for the upcoming tournaments and your entire future career.”
This news comes as a surprise considering Brady’s recent success which has seen her rise to number 13 in the world.
Although since reaching the final in Melbourne, the 26 year-old has only won back-to-back matches in one event which was Madrid.
Brady will now turn her attention to the second grand slam of the year in Paris in a couple of weeks time.
