World number 15, Stefanos Tsitsipas has explained his philosophical approach on social media after he advanced into the second round of the US Open.

The 20 year old comfortably dispatched Spaniard qualifier Tommy Robredo 6-3 7-6(1) 6-4 on Monday night to reach the second round of the US Open. After the match Tsitsipas explained his philosophical approach to social media as he posts interesting quotes on Twitter.

The interesting social media presence from the Rogers Cup finalist had sparked criticism from Nick Kyrgios but he has explained why he posts these quotes on Twitter, “What else can I write about? That’s what comes to my mind.  That’s how I use Twitter, to provide let’s say lessons to people, give them advice sometimes,” Tsitsipas stated.

“Yeah, this philosophical quotes that I tweet or post, it’s amusing, interesting to see. Whatever comes to my mind, whatever interesting fact or whatever, interesting quote. Sometimes we have a conversation with my team or whatever.  If something interesting comes up while we chat, I’ll just tweet it or post it. That’s how it comes.”

It is amazing to see how mature Tsitsipas is for a person that is only 20 years old and is continuing to develop both on and off the court. Also after the match, Stefanos revealed he had some stomach problems that he was battling during his match with Robredo that were causing him problems, “Yeah, I had some issues with my stomach.  It started at the end of the first set. I didn’t feel that well. I felt very full,” Tsitsipas explained.

“It was bothering me during the match, felt very annoyed having this thing. I kind of couldn’t run and perform the way I wanted, so it was really tough to keep up, to keep the level, same intensity.”

The Athens born star now has a day to recover before his second round clash on Wednesday against Daniil Medvedev. The last time the duo met it was a feisty affair in Miami, with Medvedev having some personal issues with Tsitsipas after the match as you can see below:
