Ryan Harrison and Michael Venus remained unbeaten in Group Eltingh/Haarhuis after beating Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 6-3 7-6(5)
The third seeds, Rojer and Tecau, were already eliminated heading into this match as they broke in the fifth game to edge into a 3-2 lead in the first set.
However Harrison and Venus showed the type of form that won them the first two matches as they won the decisive point to level the opening set at 3-3.
The US Open champions looked vulnerable on serve once again and were broke in controversial circumstances as a forehand travelled long from Rojer, when infact it was in. However there was no challenge and the Roland Garros champions took a 5-3 lead.
The eighth seeds, who have surprised everyone at the World Tour Finals this week, closed out the first set 6-3 in 29 minutes.
The second set was a much more competitive one as the Dutch-Romanian pairing looked much more comfortable in the second set. They also looked sharp on return as they managed to create a break point opportunity, however it was quickly snuffed out.
Despite both teams efforts, the London crowd would be treated to a second set tiebreak as no breaks of serve were discovered.
The eighth seeds proved to be the more clinical pairing and clinched the match on their first match point to remain unbeaten in London.
They will now play the runners-up of the Woodbridge/Woodforde group, which will be decided tomorrow, at 12pm local time on Saturday.
While Rojer and Tecau are eliminated and now move onto better things in 2018 after their US Open triumph in September.
The other match saw Henri Kontinen and John Peers defeat Raven Klaasen and Rajeev Ram in a repeat of last year’s final. The second seeds won by the exact same scoreline, 1-6 6-2 10-8, to improve to a 2-1 record in the group.
Klaasen and Ram came in as alternates as French duo Herbert and Mahut withdrew from the tournament as Herbert injured his lower back during the warmup.
As a result of the withdrawal Kontinen and Peers qualified for the Semi-Finals and will play the winners of the Woodbridge/Woodforde group, at 6pm local time on Saturday.
