With two ATP 500 events in Dubai and Acapulco as well as a 250 in São Paulo there are lot of Talking Points here are some of them:

  • Can Roger Federer his sensational start to the season in Dubai? – Roger Federer has has a sensational and unexpected start to the season after capturing his 18th grand slam in Melbourne. Can he continue his promising form in Dubai? Despite the likes of Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Roberto Bautista Agut in his way, he will like his chances to claim an eight Dubai Tennis Championship. The court will be fast and like we found out in Melbourne, that’s Roger’s type of court. Should be interesting to see if he can keep up with his own pace.
  • Can Novak Djokovic from Australia hangover in Acapulco? – Novak Djokovic hasn’t had the best start to the 2017 season. Despite winning Doha, he fell to a shock second round exit in Melbourne at the hands of Denis Istomin. Even though the Uzbekistan native played sensational tennis, he was far from his best and looked out of sorts mentally and tactically. He has now taken a late wildcard into Acapulco in the hope of gaining some valuable ATP ranking points and momentum. It will not be easy with Rafael Nadal, who has had an excellent start to the season, Milos Raonic, Dominic Thiem and David Goffin providing stern obstacles. Can he rectify his early part of the season? Never doubt the man from Serbia, but it will be difficult.
  • The Secret Life Of Pablo? Pablo Carreño Busta has come under everybody’s radar. The Spaniard has been notching up wins in Singles and Doubles. He reached the finals in bothe events in Rio. An amazing clay courter and grafter he is certainly becoming one of the players to watch out for. He will hope to end his South American clay court swing on a high in a fairly weakened São Paulo draw. He headlines the draw with Pablo Cuevas, Albert Ramos-Viñolas and Joao Sousa, with Norwegian teenager and veteran Victor Estrella Burgos dangerous floaters. Can he continue his good run of form? Or will anybody else spoil the party?

Prediction: I know I wasn’t quite right last week, however this week my prediction is that Roger Federer will continue his good run of form and win in Dubai. I also think Rafael Nadal gets to the final in Acapulco.
