In this week’s latest ATP world tour rankings Andy Murray closed the gap on the world number one, Novak Djokovic as he picked up his sixth title of the season in Shanghai.
On Sunday, Andy Murray beat Roberto Bautista Agut in the final of the Shanghai Rolex Masters to claim his 41st career title. This was his second title on the Asian swing after last week he beat Grigor Dimitrov in the final of the China Open. As a result of back to back titles in China, Murray now finds himself just 2,415 points behind the world number one spot, which is currently being held by Novak Djokovic. The Scot plays tournaments in Vienna and Paris, which could be big tournaments in deciding who ends the season world number one.
Biggest Mover
This week’s biggest mover is Roberto Bautista Agut. The Spaniard has elevated six spots in this week’s top twenty after reaching his maiden Masters 1000 final. En route to the final he beat the world number one Novak Djokovic, playing some aggressive tennis. The Spaniard earnt 555 points this week to rise up to world number 13.
