Andy Murray – Lucas Rosol

It can be fair to say that Andy Murray and Lukas Rosol will never be best friends on the tour following their last meeting at the 2015 Munich Open. During a highly animated match, Murray made headlines around that world after microphones recorded him up saying to the Czech ‘everybody hates you’.

The two will get reacquainted once again at the US Open, where Murray is expected to come through with relative ease. In their two previous matches, the Brit has rallied to a set down to defeat the 32-year-old.

As for the prospect of more bickering between the two in New York next week, Wimbledon champion Murray has stated that the two players have resolved their differences.

“I spoke to him after the match last year, it was fine,” Murray said.
“Afterwards I just – obviously a few things happened when we were on the court – but we spoke after the match and that was it.
“I have actually got along fine with him apart from that day and he’s a tough, tough opponent obviously.
“He’s a big, strong guy, he goes for his shots and he takes a lot of risks. It’s a tough opening round, for sure.”

This year is Murray’s 12th consecutive US Open and he has never been knocked out in the first round. On the other hand, Rosol has suffered first round losses in four out of his five appearances at the tournament.
