TENNIS – Slovakian Martin Klizan recovered from a set and a break down to edge Damir Dzumhur 4-6 6-4 6-0 in on e hour and 50 minutes to reach the final in Casablanca where he will face Daniel Gimeno Traver who battled past Czech rising star Jiri Vesely 6-7 (3-7) 6-4 6-4. Diego Sampaolo
Klizan fended off five of the seven break points he faced and converted on his five break point chances. The Slovakian player won his previous two finals in St. Petersburg in 2012 and Munich 2014. At 1-1 Klizan had to save three break points. Dzumhur broke serve with a down-the line backhand before sealing the first set with 6.4. Klizan went down a set and a break at the start of the second set Dzumhur earned another break point at 2-0 but Klizan saved it to win his first game of the second set. Klizan saved another break point in the fifth game. The Slovakian player turned around the match at 2-4 when he reeled off four consecutive games to clinch the second set with 6-4. Klizan took control of the third set and got three consecutive breaks of serve to reach the third final of his career. Klizan won his only previous head-to-head match against Gimeno Traver in three sets in Quito earlier this year
Gimeno Traver converted on two of his five break point chances and did not face any break point chances to reach his first ATP 250 final. Both players were perfect on their serve in the first set which came down to the tie-break. Vesely got the mini-break at 2-2 before clinching the tie-break with 7-3. Gimeno Traver brought up his first two break points and converted it at the second opportunity before sealing the second set with his inside out forehand. The Spanish player broke serve in the third game at 1-1.Vesely forced Gimeno Traver to deuce in the sixth game but the Spanish player sealed the win on his second match point at 5-4.
