TENNIS – Vasek Pospisil beat Juan Martin Del Potro 6-4 7-6 (9-7) to claim his first Miami Open win. Del Potro, who made his comeback from his wrist injury problems, dropped his serve as he was serving for the second set at 5-4. The Canadian player fended off two set points in the second-set tie-break. Del Potro converted only one of his six break pointchances. Pospisisil hit 36 winners to 9 for Del Potro Diego Sampaolo
Del Potro was forced to miss most of the 2014 season after undergoing wrist surgery in March 2014. He returned to the tour last January when he reached the quarter finals in Sydney but he was later forced to miss the Australian Open and Indian Wells following another wrist injury.
“I have to take the positive things in my comeback. I just played another official match after one year and it’s another good signal for the future. I don’t have any physical problems after the match and I will be recovering soon for the futurehow long it takes me to be at the top again. I just wanted to play tennis without pain. It doesn’t matter ”, said Del Potro

Simone Bolelli cruised past Marcos Baghdatis 6-2 6-2 confirming his good period of form. The Italian player saved all three break points he faced and converted on four of his five break points. He will take on Viktor Troicki who edged the Italian player with 6-3 3-6 7-5 last January in Sydney.
For the first time since 2007 four teenagers Borna Coric, Aleksander Zverev, Hyeon Chung and Andrey Rublev have reached the second round in Miami. The last time so many teenagers advanced to the second round at Crandon Park dates back to 2007 when Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Potro and Sam Querrey reached this stage of the tournament.
Croatian rising start Borna Coric fought back from a set down to edge Andreas Haider Maurer in three sets with 1-6 6-3 7-6 (7-3). Coric won for the second time against the Austrian player repeating the win achieved two weeks ago at Indian Wells. Coric held just one service game in the first set to lose 1-6. Coric faced a break point at the start of the second set but he saved it to hold his serve before breaking serve. Haider Maurer went up 30-15 on Coric’s serve but he could not break back. Coric won the second set with 6-3 to force the match to the decider. Haider Maurer broke serve in the third set en route to taking a 4-2 lead. Coric broke back before earning a break point at 4-4. Haider mauer saved it with a volley to take the 5-4 lead. After drawing level to 5-5 Coric broke serve to love and served for the match at 6-5 but Haider Maurer broke back in the next game forcing the match to the tie-break. Coric sealed the win in the tie-break with 7-3-
Seventeen-year-old German Aleksander Zverev, who is ranked World Number 129 and started the Miami tournament as a qualifier, fended off all the six break points he faced to battle past Australian Sam Groth with 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 6-4
Another 17-year-old player Andrey Rublev became the third youngest player in the history of this tournament to win a match at Key Biscayne when he fought back from a set down to edge Pablo Carreno Busta with 1-6 6-1 6-4.
Federico Delbonis edged past Jir Vesely with 7-6 (7-4) 3-6 7-5 to set up a second round match against David Ferrer.
Martin Klizan beat Paolo Lorenzi 6-3 6-4 to set up a second round match against World Number 1 Novak Djokovic. Klizan broke serve at the start of the match en route to winning the first set with 6-3. Lorenzi broke at the start of the second set but Klizan broke back before winning four consecutive games to clinch the second set with 6-4.
Mikhail Youzhny fought back from a set down to edge past Andrey Golubev with 4-6 6-2 6-3 to set up a second round match against Kei Nishikori.
Hurgen Melzer knocked out 22-year-old Ryan Harrison 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 setting up a second round match against Jeremy Chardy. The 33-Austrian player achieved her bets result in Miami when she reached the quarter final in 2013 losing to David Ferrer.
Brazilian Thomas Bellucci battled past Lleyton Hewitt with 7-5 6-7 (2-7) 6-4.
Mikhail Kukushkin converted on four of his five break point chances in his 6-4 3-6 6-2 win over Steve Johnson.
