World number 2 Jannik Sinner has been voted Fans’ Favourite singles player in the ATP Awards for a third straight year.
Sinner opened the 2025 season on a high note in January when he successfully defended his Australian Open title by beating Alexander Zverev in the final. Later in the year, the Italian star beat friend and rival Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final to claim his first title at the All England Club. The 24-time Tour winner also won the Masters 1000 title in Paris, his second Nitto ATP Finals title in Turin, the Masters 1000 title in Paris and two ATP 500 titles in Beijing and Vienna. He did not drop a set en route to his second ATP Finals title in Turin in front of his home fans.
Sinner is the second player to win two Nitto ATP Finals without dropping a set in 2024 and 2025, following in the footsteps of Ivan Lendl, who achieved this feat three times in 1982, 1985 and 1986. Sinner is just the third player ever to win multiple ATP Finals titles on home soil after claiming this trophy in Turin in 2024. The first two players to achieve this feat were John McEnroe, who won the end-of-year tournament three times in New York in 1978, 1983 and 1984, and Boris Becker, who won this event twice in Frankfurt in 1992 and 1995.
Sinner scored a record of 58 wins to 6 defeats this year, reaching at least the final in 10 out of 12 tournaments played. The two exceptions were Halle and Shanghai.
Sinner was named Newcomer of the Year in 2019, the Most Improved Player of the Year and Fans’ Favourite in 2023.
“Thank you so much for voting for me. Winning the Fans’ Favourite award once again means the world to me, especially because of you guys. It has been a very intense year, but you give me so much energy and love, especially when I go on court and perform in front of you. It’s the best feeling for us tennis players, so thank you so much. I will prepare myself in the best possible way to be ready for next year, and see you all very, very soon”, said Sinner in a message to the fans.
