Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer’s lack of support for Novak Djokovic and the PTPA could come back to haunt tennis in it’s bid to eliminate 12 day Masters 1000 events.
A big talking point over the last year has been the expanded 12 day Masters 1000 events which is now part of tennis for the foreseeable future.
However, players, fans and journalists are seemingly fed up with the changes and want to revert back to the week long event.
In his press conference, Djokovic said that players had the opportunity to speak up when it mattered but they failed to do so.
In this video, Ubitennis founder Ubaldo Scanagatta and hall of fame writer Steve Flink discuss why Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer could have supported Novak Djokovic more when the Serb created the PTPA. Also they discuss Serena Williams’ speech to Maria Sharapova at the tennis hall of fame ceremony this past week.
