Cameron Norrie overcame Zizou Bergs 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-1 to reach his 25th tour-level semifinal at the Moselle Open in Metz.
Norrie broke in the third game to take a 2-0 lead. Bergs broke straight back in the third game for 1-2, but Norrie broke for the second time to open up a 4-1 lead. The British player served out on his set point.
The second set went on serve en route to the tie-break. Bergs reeled off four consecutive points to win the tie-break of the second set 8-6. Norrie bounced back by breaking twice in the fourth and sixth games to win his third consecutive match in the deciding-set in as many days. Norrie bounced back by winning 86%on his first serve points. Norrie won the final set 6-1 for the second match in as many days.
“I was not happy after losing the second set, but I managed to reset. I got a bit fortunate with a couple of let cords that went my way, but I will take a bit luck when I can. I went back to dictating play and really moving him around. I think that was the difference today”, said Norrie,
