The Canadian and her coach have decided to mutually part ways.

Bianca Andreescu has officially split with her coach Sylvain Bruneau as she broke the news earlier on social media.

With Bruneau Andreescu made it into the top 10, won Indian Wells not to mention the US Open in the same year and she became the first Canadian to win a grand slam.

But after that amazing year back in 2019 she got injured at the WTA Tour Finals in Shenzen where apparently she cracked her knee during a match and everything went downhill from there.

She didn’t play for more than a year until this January when she made the trip to Australia losing in the second round of the Australian Open before making it all the way to the semifinal at the Philips Island Trophy a WTA 250 losing to Marie Bouzkova in three sets.

So far this year she has made the final in Miami before being forced to retire due an injury and making it to the quarterfinals in Strasbourg before being upset last week in round one at Roland Garros.

She also had to deal with issues due to Covid as Bruneau tested positive for the virus right after landing in Australia while Andreescu got a positive test result in Madrid and was forced to miss Madrid and Rome.

She than made the trip to Strasbourg looking for matches and once she had played two matches against two qualifiers she pulled out due to minor Ab tear that she didn’t want to risk getting worse a week before the French Open.

She has yet to name a replacement and Ubitennis did reach out to Bruneau for comment but have not heard back. Bruneau will most likely head back to Canada to work with Tennis Canada where he spent time as a coach and even a Fed Cup captain for Canada.
