Lorenzo Musetti followed up his win over Felix Auger Aliassime with a 6-1 3-6 6-4 victory over US Next Gen player Sebastian Korda at the Open Parc Auvergne Auvergne Lyon.
Musetti saved the first break point in the opening game before breaking serve in the fourth game to open up a 4-1 lead after a drop-shot error and a drop shot from Korda. The match was interrupted by rain, as Musetti was leading 4-1 30-30. Musetti held on his final two service games to claim the first set 6-3 on his fourth set point.
Korda had to save two break points in the third game with his serve in the third game to hold for 2-1. The son of 1996 Australian Open champion Petr Korda brroke twice in the fourth and sixth games to close out the second set 6-3. Musetti was the first to save a break point in the third game with his serve for 2-1. The Italian Next Gen player converted his second break point in the fourth game with a passing shot to open up a 4-1 lead. Korda broke back in the seventh game to love and saved two break points to hold at deuce to draw level to 4-4. Musetti sealed the third set 6-4 with a break on his second match point.
