Tamara Zidansek beats Sara Errani to advance to the semifinals in Bogotà

Fifth seed Tamara Zidansek from Slovenia beat 2012 Roland Garros finalist Sara Errani 6-3 6-4 to reach the semifinal at the Copa Colsanitas WTA Tournament in Bogotà. 

Zidansek got an early break to open up a 3-0 lead. Errani broke back in the fifth game for 2-3. After four consecutive breaks Zidansek held serve in the ninth game to claim the first set 6-3. 

Errani went up a double break to take a 4-0 lead, but Zidansek fought back by winning six consecutive games with three breaks of serve to claim the second set 6-4. 

Zidansek will face Viktoriya Tomova, who came back from one back down to beat Nuria Parrizas Diaz 5-7 6-2 6-4. Tomova got an early break at deuce to take a 1-0 lead. Parrizas Diaz broke back in the sixth game at love to draw level to 3-3. The Spanish player converted her third break point after five deuces to win the first set 7-5. 

Tomova broke three times to race out to a 5-0 lead. Parrizas Diaz pulled one break back in the sixth game, but Tomova served out on her third set point. 

The third set started with four breaks in the first five games. Tomova took a 5-1 lead. Parizzas Diaz got one break back in the eighth game, but Tomova served out the win on her second match point. 

Maria Camila Osorio Serrano (US Open Junior champion in 2019) beat Stefanie Voegele 6-3 7-5. The 19-year-old Colombian player went up a 3-0 lead with a break in the second game of the opening set. Voegele broke back in the fifth game for 2-3. After a trade of breaks Osorio Serrano won the final two games with another break in the eighth game to claim the first set 6-3.

Voegele led at 3-2 and 5-4 in the second set, but Osorio Serrano won the final three games with another break in the 11th game to claim the second set 7-5. 

Harmony Tan from France cruised past Lara Aruabarrena Vecino 6-1 6-4. Tan went up a double break in the second and sixth games to win the first set 6-1. Arruabarrena opened up a 3-0 lead with an early break in the second game. Tan broke back in the fifth game for 2-3. Both players traded breaks in the sixth and seventh games. Tan won the final three games with a break in the ninth game to claim the second set 6-4.
