Andy Murray is feeling comfortable and relaxed ahead of his return to Wimbledon in the men’s doubles this year.

The two-time singles champion at SW19 had revealed plans earlier in the year that Wimbledon could be his farewell tournament.

However after hip resurfacing surgery, the Brit seems re-energized as he makes his return to his home grand slam in the men’s doubles teaming up with Pierre-Hughes Herbert.

There seems little doubt that Murray has chosen the ideal partner as Herbert has won the career grand slam in doubles with regular partner Nicolas Mahut.

They will begin their campaign against Ugo Humbert and Marius Copil as Murray seems relaxed heading into this year’s tournament, “I think I feel fine now because I have a lot of perspective about things,” Murray told the Guardian.

“I have got used to it. I am certainly not feeling like I usually do before Wimbledon starts. I don’t even know what court I am practising on.”

Should Murray reach the third round here he could face his brother Jamie, who is teaming up with Neal Skupski this week.

The all-British duo take on Ivan Dodig and Filip Polasek in the opening round but the former singles world number one is dismissive about playing his brother just yet, “A lot of stuff has got to happen before then,” Murray claimed. “Two weeks ago, I was not even going to play, so I am not going to be getting excited about third-round matches.”

Although we know that Murray will play the men’s doubles, his mixed doubles participation seems more doubtful as he is struggling to find a partner.

Also there is the fact that the men’s doubles is best of five sets, which could be quite taxing on the Brit’s body and health.

Speaking about the situation, Murray said that there is still a dispute over whether to play the event, “We spoke about it last night and again this morning and let’s just say coach and player have differing views! It is a tough one and I don’t know who will win,” the Brit revealed.

“In all seriousness, we will come to an agreement. I am not going to make a decision on it without everybody being on board with it.

“Everybody is keen on me playing and I would like to play, but it is whether or not it is the right thing or the best thing to do. The sign-up is on Wednesday, but I won’t leave it to the last minute. I still don’t know who my partner will be.”

The men’s doubles event starts on Wednesday while the singles starts on Monday, with Murray’s partner Pierre-Hughes Herbert faces Kevin Anderson on the first day of action
