US teenager Amanda Anisimova came back from one set down to beat former Wimbledon finalist Sabine Lisicki 4-6 6-3 6-2 at the Claro Open Colsanitas in Bogotà scoring her first win on clay this year.
Anisimova served at 71 % and saved seven of the ten break points she faced and earned the only break of the second set in the eighth game to force the match to the decider.
Both players traded five breaks in the first five games of the third set. Anisimova got three breaks to take a 3-2 lead. The US teenager broke serve at 4-2 before holding serve at 15 to close out the match after 1 hour and 32 minutes.
Anna Karolina Schmiedlova beat Ysaline Bonaventure 6-2 6-4 after 1 hour and 33 minutes. Schmiedlova fended off eight of the twelve break points and converted all her seven break points. Schmiedlova came back from 2-4 down by winning four consecutive games to close out the second set 6-4.
Brazilian qualifier Beatriz Haddad Maia beat Laura Siegemund 6-2 7-5 after 1 hour and 32 minutes. Siegemund saved 11 of the 15 break points she faced and built up a 5-2 lead, but Haddad Maia rallied by winning the winning the next five games to clinch the second set 7-5.
Italian qualifier Jasmine Paolini beat her compatriot Francesca Di Lorenzo 6-2 3-6 6-4 in two hours and 2 minutes.
Varvara Lepchenko broke serve five times in her 6-3 6-1 win over Elitsa Kostova after 68 minutes. Maria Osorio converted 6 of her 14 break points to beat Conny Perrin 6-4 6-4.
