John Isner has revealed the epic amount of clothes he has in his bag ahead of his Acapulco semi-final with Nick Kyrgios.
The tall American defeated John Millman 7-6(2) 6-7(4) 7-6(4) in just over three hours in a match that finished at 2:30 am local time.
It was a match that saw Isner hit down 38 aces as he made the semi-finals in Acapulco in what was a very long battle with Millman.
After the exhausting battle the world number nine revealed how many clothes he had in his bag, “I feel very tired, 2:30 in the morning. I think I went through 10 shirts, 14 hats, two shoes, three pairs of shorts and three pairs of socks,” he said to Atptour.com
The Mexican weather has seen all players sweating due to the crazy humidity with play not beginning until 4pm local time due to the insane heat.
However Isner managed to deal with it well and will now face Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals who limped his way into the last four with an epic win over Stan Wawrinka.
Despite Kyrgios’ physical condition, having played five and a half hours in his last two matches, the American is not underestimating the unpredictable Aussie, “We’ve played a handful of times, I’ve seen his matches this week,” Isner explained.
“I’ve won a couple, he’s won a couple. He’s an incredible talent, everyone knows that. So it will be a fun match.” The match will be the second semi-final, which is set to start at 10pm local time.
The first semi-final will see Alexander Zverev play Cameron Norrie at 6pm local time.
