LONDON: Australia’s Nick Kyrgios has been issued with a significant financial penalty by the ATP after simulating a sex act during one of his matches at The Fever-Tree Championships.

On Saturday, British broadcaster the BBC was forced to issue an apology over the incident. Kyrgios was making gestures with his water bottle before spraying some on it onto the ground. Glaring towards a member of his camp. The incident occurred during his semifinal match against Marin Cilic, which he lost 7-6(3), 7-6(4).

As a result of his behaviour, the governing body of tennis has hit Kyrgios with a fine of 15,000 euros (£13,190). It is not the first time he has come under fire at The Queen’s Club this week. The BBC had previously issued another apology concerning Kyrgios in relation to his on-court swearing.

The Australian was questioned about his colourful language following his quarter-final win over Kyle Edmund. During his press conference the 23-year-old was far from concerned about the uproar.

“Fine. I don’t care,” he said.

When he was pressed further on the matter, Kyrgios hit back at the journalist.

“Do you swear? No, do you swear? Yes or no? Yes or no? Do you swear? Do you swear? Okay, great. Good question,” he said.

Kyrgios will return to action at the Wimbledon Championships, which will get underway on July 2nd. He is keeping grounded about his chances at the grass-court major, but did give some insight into what he preparations over the next week will be.

“Yeah, probably have a day or two off and just slowly get back into it,”  he said on Saturday.
“ I think I’m playing a couple of exhibitions next week, Boodles, I have those to play.
“Obviously the next couple of days will be pretty light. Maybe do some gym and stuff.”

There has been no reaction from Kyrgios concerning his latest fine.
