She counted on having a wild card in Miami, but the invitation, for now, has come only from Monterrey. What matters is that Marion Bartoli will soon be a professional tennis player again.
Bartoli has been spending hours and hours on court over the last few months. Long before she announced her comeback RMC (Radio Monte Carlo) Sport, had revealed her plans in October she was training hard in order to pass the physical tests. She denied those rumours but in December she announced her official comeback via Twitter.
I am delighted to announce my comeback on the professional circuit of the @WTA next year

Today, the Abierto GNP Seguros (WTA tournament which will take place in Monterrey, Mexico, 2-8 April), announced they gave Bartoli a wild card via their Twitter account. Bartoli has not featured in a WTA or Grand Slam draw since losing to Simona Halep in Cincinnati in August 2013. Shortly afterwards she announced her retirement.

Thus, it seems she will not play her first tournament in Miami.
Those around her say that Marion is planning her return in a manic way. In 2016, during a trip to Asia, she contracted a rare virus that led her to lose more than 30 pounds. Unable to eat, she was forced to go to a private hospital in Italy. She proved as strong in fighting off her illness as she had been on court, showing sheer perseverance. A very difficult moment, as she recently revealed the weight loss was caused also by an emotionally abusive relationship.
Good luck Mademoiselle Bartoli, we will all cheer for you.
