
During the Day 4 of the AWP, Soon Woo Kwon and Zhe Li reached the final, while Ratiwatana brothers earned a Wild-Card into the Australian Open 2018.
South Korean top seed Soon Woo Kwon continued his comfortable run, needing just 52 minutes to eliminate Japan’s Hiroki Moriya 6-1 6-1. The 20 year-old Kwon is yet to lose a set in the tournament, after receiving a walkover from India’s Vishnu Vardhan in the quarterfinals. In the singles final, he will face Chinese 31 year-old Zhe Li, who won a hard-fought match against Zhizhen Zhang 4-6 6-4 6-4.
The doubles final was also played on Saturday, as first seeds Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana from Thailand defeated Jeevan Neduncheziyan from India and Cristoph Rungkat from Indonesia 7-6(6) 6-3. The second seeds saved two set points in the tie-break before losing it 8-6, and a wide volley from Neduncheziyan sealed the decisive break on 3-2 in the second set.
The Ratiwatana brothers will receive a Wild-Card into the main draw of Australian Open 2018, while the singles final will be played on Sunday.
