Andy Murray and his wife Kim Sears are expecting their second child. The pair, who married in 2015, already have a daughter Sophia who was born in February 2016.
Murray is due to defend the Wimbledon title after defeating Milos Raonic in last year’s final. He has had a trying year after shingles and an elbow injury contributed to early exits in the Australian Open and Indian Wells.
A hip injury has largely derailed Murray’s Wimbledon preparations. He lost in the first round of Queens to lucky loser Jordan Thompson of Australia, despite being the defending champion.
Murray was then due to play a minimum of two exhibition matches including one against France’s Lucas Pouille. Murray pulled out of both exhibition ties citing the hip injury though remains adamant that he will be fit for Wimbledon
Murray starts against lucky loser Alexander Bublik in the first round. Bublik, 19, qualified for the Australian Open and shocked Lucas Pouille in the first round before a second round loss to Malek Jaziri. It will be the first career meeting between the pair.
