World No.1 Andy Murray is due to take part in the Hurlingham Classic next week to complete his Wimbledon preparations.
The defending champion will join the likes of Milos Raonic, Tomas Berdych, Lucas Pouille, Tommy Haas and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Murray opted into the event following his shock first round loss to lucky loser Jordan Thompson in the first round of Queens on Monday.
Murray is set to play two matches, expected to be on Tuesday and Friday though it is not yet public which of the other star-studded participants he will play.
Murray: “It’s a great setting and an ideal opportunity to get grass-court practice.”
Murray is familiar with the event and the venue having used the same tournament as preparation the last time he suffered an early Queen’s Club exit. That was in 2014 when he lost in the Last 16 at Queens.
His rival Novak Djokovic has opted to play the ATP 250 event in Eastbourne as his only official warm-up event for Wimbledon.
