Roger Federer has become the latest star to take part in the global phenomenon of the mannequin challenge.

The craze sweeping throughout the world challenges members of the public to pose as mannequins whilst somebody films them and their surroundings. During the video the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd is played in the background. It is believed that the social media trend was started by a group of students in Florida.

Since the first video, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Spanish football team and the New York Giants have all starred in their own version. The latest addition to the growing list is 17-time grand slam champion Federer. Participating in a challenge for chocolate company Lindt, the 34-year-old Swiss great is seen ending the video by sampling the product.

Federer is not the first tennis player to take part in the challenge. During this year’s ATP Finals in London, the eight best players on the ATP Tour conducted their own version of the task. One of the participants, Milos Raonic, jokingly mocked the challenge when recently asked about it.

“The fantastic staff of the ATP media had a unique idea that they never saw anywhere else. And they thought we have eight players here, maybe we should start a new trend.” Joked Raonic.

Following on from the video conducted by the eight best players on the ATP Tour, the ATP university also conducted their own version.
