The first entry lists for the 2017 season have already come out on the Atp playerzone.
As usual, three hard-court tournaments will be played in the first week: the Qatar Open in Doha, the Brisbane International in Australia and the Chennai Open in India.
World’s top players Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic have entered Doha. The Serbian is the defending champion, while the British has not played in Qatar since 2013. Czech Republic’s Tomas Berdych is the third top-10 player in the entry list, followed by David Goffin, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Ivo Karlovic, who are all ranked in the top 20.
Though, the event with the highest cut-off and the highest number of top-10 players is Brisbane. Although Roger Federer has not planned to play, Milos Raonic, Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori, Dominic Thiem and Rafael Nadal have chosen the Australian tourney. Lucas Pouille, Grigor Dimitrov and David Ferrer also took part to the field.
Furthermore, Croatia’s Marin Cilic and Spain’s Roberto Bautista-Agur are the main stars of the Chennai Open. Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Martin Klizan are the only two other top-40 players in the list. Former world’s number five Tommy Robredo has entered the event with the protected ranking.
