In Vienna, the first seed is Brazilian veteran Thomaz Bellucci, who faces Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round, while Spain’s Inigo Cervaantes is the second seed. Great Britain’s Marcus Willis makes his comeback to the circuit after more than three months with a wild card, as he faces eighth seed Radu Albot from Moldova. Home hopes Dennis Novak and Sebastian Ofner received the other wild cards.
In Basel, Dutch first seed Robin Haase will meet former top-35 Pablo Andujar, who is trying to come back after a bad injury. Other interesting first round matches are those between Shanghai quarterfinalist Mischa Zverev and Vasek Pospisil, and between Rajeev Ram and 18 year-old Stefanos Tsitsipas, who has been given a wild-card. Swiss hopes Antoine Bellier (20 year-old) and Johan Nikles (19 year-old) also will look for a spot in the main draw.
