Croatian tennis star Marin Cilic has parted ways with coach Goran Ivanisevic after working together for three years.
Ivanisevic, 44, a former Wimbledon champion himself, steered Cilic to his maiden Grand Slam triumph at the US Open 2014, following which the latter attained his career-best ranking of No. 8 in the world.
The 27-year-old also enjoyed his best-ever appearance at the Wimbledon Championships, reaching the quarter-finals on three consecutive occasions from 2014 to 2016.
Announcing the split on his Facebook page, Cilic wrote: “It was huge privilege to work with Goran, I enjoyed our work all this time and Goran helped me to reach many goals.
“Unfortunately, the road we were sharing on this journey is separating and I wish only the best for Goran in the future,” he added.
The duo had started their collaboration in September 2014.
