Roger Federer will play across all three disciplines at the upcoming Rio Olympics, as per the squad announced by the Swiss Olympic Association (SOA) on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Federer, who won the doubles gold (along with Stanislas Wawrinka) in Beijing 2008 and the silver in singles at London 2012, will try every possible course of action to achieve a hat-trick of podium finishes at the Games.
The SOA named Federer alongside Wawrinka and Martina Hingis for men’s and mixed doubles events respectively, besides the singles category.
The others in the squad include the women’s doubles pairings of Hingis and Belinda Bencic, and Timea Bacsinszky and Xenia Knoll.
The competition will be held from August 6-14 at the Olympic Tennis Centre in Rio de Janerio, Brazil.
