The Wimbledon organizers on Wednesday announced an early list of wildcard recipients that will see the players enter the main draw of the prestigious tournament to be held at the All England Club, starting June 27.
Among the ones to have received the wildcards include former World No. 8 Radek Stepanek of Czech Republic, last year’s Rafael Nadal-conqueror Dustin Brown, and the local trio of Liam Broady, Alex Ward and James Ward.
On the women’s section, former World No. 5 Daniela Hantuchova and home favorite Laura Robson are among the top names. The others in the list include local hopes Katie Swan and Tara Moore, besides Russian’s Marina Melnikova.
Furthermore, the organizers are slated to grant three more wildcard entries each in both men’s and women’s singles division respectively.
